Title: Remix of Japan | Artist: Pieter Zandvliet | Category: 2011 - 2018 Paintings on canvas

Remix of Japan 2014
Acrylic on canvas
100×140 cm

I created this painting/drawing only with Uni Posca paintmarkers. Cause I think Iám like Lucebert and many other artists more a drawer than a painter. The idea for this artwork was to made an artwork full of elemants out of the beautifull history of Japan, and  also things from the modern times. On the background I draw the Fuji vulcan. I created a mix from buildings and people my own Japan, A Remix of Japan, in bright collours on a dark background.

A friend draw my attention to the work of Pieter Zandvliet and I was immediately hooked. His drawings and paintings make me particularly happy. With its continuous flow of ideas he puts themes effortlessly into a framework, namely his absurd and humorous image of humanity. You discover the works of Pieter in layers with continually new and surprising details. A visit to Pieter’s studio or living room is an experience and feels like coming home. Not at least because of his juicy stories
